Lunar Eclipse Viewing Event Invitation
The project involved creating an interesting layout and composition design for an invitation, that mainly focussed on using typography.Ā The invitation is to a conceptĀ event at the South African Astronomical Observatory, in celebration of the total lunar eclipse on 27 July 2018. The inspiration came from how when aĀ total lunar eclipse occurs,Ā the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and the Moon is fully in the Earthās shadow.Ā The moon should then turnĀ a blood red colour. The event is being held at the observatory as a platform for people to come together and enjoy viewing the lunar eclipse as it happens throughout the night.
The invitation uses a gate fold design with cut out circles and text running across multiple layers of paper. This design is engaging and interactive, as well as informative of the event's focus and details.Ā
